Parent/Community Communication:

Dear Class of 2020 & Beyond!

Our collective hearts are broken for our students this afternoon as our Governor officially closed all Washington State schools to in-person learning for the rest of the 2019-20 school year. However, we choose to look at the positive in today's announcement when he declared that holding a graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 was NOT off the table as of yet! We want you to know that we have already begun discussing alternative ideas. We will CELEBRATE this amazing and talented class in style when the time comes, stay tuned!

In the meantime, you need to know that LEARNING will CONTINUE as we have previously set up. Remember, all students need to stay engaged. Underclassmen: The work you do now will reflect on your transcript. Don't give up and do the very best you can! Face-to-face learning can not be replicated or replaced, but we are committed to helping ALL of our amazing students and families throughout this unprecedented time. Please refer to our parent/student letter that we sent out on Friday, April 2nd for further details. You can find that letter on the homepage of our website, on the school district Facebook page, and on the newly created DHS ASB Instagram account!

Seniors, we are going to get you to the finish line and set up for an amazing future, but please do not check-out on us. Our dream is to see everyone from the class of 2020, the largest class in Davenport High School history, walk across that stage!

Please know that we will do the very best we can as we continue to provide “distance learning” opportunities for your children! We expect to continue to receive additional guidance and direction from the state and Governor’s office in the next few weeks. We promise to keep you posted every step along the way.

Please enjoy Spring Break this week!  As a reminder, our meal service is continuing through the break.
